Lubi Lubi Festival

Lubi Lubi Festival, also called Lubi Lubi Dance Festival, is a coconut and religious festival in Bacuag, Surigao Del Norte, Philippines every October 8. Its schedule coincides with the feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary.

Similarly named festivals are also conducted in Gingoog (Lubi Lubi Festival) and Glan, Saranggani (Lubi Lubi Festival).

The Lubi Lubi Dance Festival in Bacuag was first held in 2010 during the time of Mayor Shiela Mae O. Cebedo. It is mounted to celebrate the coconut industry in the town, and it has become a vehicle to promote the cultural street dance and local products.

It is also celebrated in conjunction with Our Lady of the Holy Rosary feast. The church was established in 1939 by the Diocese of Surigao.

In 2011, one of its activities was the skimboarding competition.

How to reach Bacuag, Surigao del Norte

The most convenient is to take a flight from Manila bound for Surigao Airport. Ferry schedules are also available from various points of Visayas and Mindanao. Within Mindanao, one take bus trips to the city.
